Chris Attaya | Vice President, Product Strategy, Strategic Healthcare Programs

Chris Attaya brings more than 28 years of experience in the Home Health and Hospice industry, achieved through a series of executive and consulting positions. Chris joined SHP in 2014, and is responsible for product development and client relationships to help clients achieve increased operational and financial performance through the use of SHP's industry leading analytics platform and benchmark data. Prior to SHP, Chris was the CFO at the Visiting Nurse Association of Boston and had worked at Partners Health Care at Home as CFO and CEO.

Melinda A. Gaboury, COS-C | Chief Executive Officer

Melinda A. Gaboury, with more than 28 years in home care, has over 18 years of executive speaking and educating experience, including extensive day to day interaction with home care and hospice professionals. She routinely conducts Home Care and Hospice Reimbursement Workshops and speaks at state association meetings throughout the country. Melinda has profound experience in Medicare PPS training, billing, collections, case-mix calculations, chart reviews and due diligence. UPIC, RA, ADR & TPE appeals with all Medicare MACs have become the forefront of Melinda’s current impact on the industry. She is currently serving on the NAHC/HHFMA Advisory Board and Work Group and is Associate Director on the Home Care Association of Florida Board of Directors. Melinda is also the author of the Home Health OASIS Guide to OASIS-D1.

Dee Kornetti,   MA, PT, HCS-D, HCS-C, COS-C | COO, Kornetti & Krafft Health Care Solutions, and AHCC Board Chair

Dee Kornetti, a physical therapist for 30 years, is a past administrator and co-owner of a Medicare-certified home health agency. She now provides training and education to home health industry providers as Owner/Founder of a consulting business, Kornetti & Krafft Health Care Solutions, with her business partners Cindy Krafft and Sherry Teague. Kornetti is nationally recognized as a speaker in the areas of home care, standardized tests and measures in the field of physical therapy, therapy training and staff development, including OASIS, coding, and documentation, in the home health arena. She is the current President of the American Physical Therapy Association’s Home Health Section and serves on the APTA’s national Post-Acute Work Group. She serves as the Chair of the Association of Home Care Coding and Compliance advisory board. She has served as a content expert for standard setting for Decision Health’s Board of Medical Specialty Coding (BSMC) home care coding (HCS-D) and OASIS (HCS-O) credentialed exams. She is also on Medbridge’s Advisory Board for development of educational content on its home health platform, and has authored several courses related to OASIS, Conditions of Participation (CoPs) and therapy.

Robert W. Markette, Jr. JD, CHC, HCS-C | Attorney, Hall, Render, Killian, Heath & Lyman

Robert W. Markette, Jr., focuses his practice on representing home health, hospice and private duty providers in all aspects of their operations. With more than 10 years of experience in working with these industries, Markette has developed a reputation for understanding the issues facing home care providers and has assisted clients in a number of areas related to the operation of their businesses. Markette works with clients on issues related to Medicare and Medicaid compliance, including surveys, responding to surveys and state and federal appeals of survey findings; he is also a frequent speaker on home health, hospice and private duty matters across the country, presenting to the American Health Lawyers Association and the National Association for Home Health and Hospice Care, as well as other national speaking events and numerous state trade association conferences and continuing education sessions.

 

Robin N. Seidman, RN, BSN, MSN, MBA, COS-C, HCS-D, LNCC | legal nurse consultant and owner, Documentation Compliance Solutions, LLC

Robin Seidman has more than 18 years of experience in home care and hospice with areas of expertise in compliance and regulatory requirements; clinical/reimbursement audits; diligence/risk assessments; IRO/CIA audits; claim denials/appeals; quality/utilization review; education/training/orientation programs and implementing effective process improvements. She has successfully led numerous provider audits and assisted legal counsel in negotiating settlement agreements and has an excellent track record helping agencies under government scrutiny to decrease potential overpayment risk.

Robert Simione | Director of Data Analytics, Simione Healthcare Consultants

Rob Simione, CPA, is a Director of Data Analytics at Simione Healthcare Consultants, where he focuses on building solutions to manage, analyze and operationalize data resources related to benchmarking, cost reporting, market intelligence and financial risk assessment. Prior to leading collaborative activities with a variety of information technology companies for Simione, he served more than 10 years in financial consulting, and in corporate and tax accounting. While working for Simione, Rob has developed a great understanding of data resources to support effective collaboration among information technology vendors and providers of home-based care.

Melanie Stover has been presenting on the topics of Home Health, Hospice and Private Duty for the last 18 years. She is passionate about spreading the message how home-based health services impact families lives – for the better! Melanie is an OT and the founder of Home Care Sales – a firm that specializes in growth strategies for the home care industry. Karen Tibbs RN, MS, HCS‐D, COS‐C | Senior Quality Manager, OASIS & Coding, McBee Associates

Karen Tibbs is the Senior Quality Manager in OASIS and Coding at McBee. She has a master’s degree in healthcare quality and 23 years of homecare experience with extensive knowledge in medical review, regulatory compliance, performance improvement and ICD-10 and OASIS accuracy. As an industry expert, Karen has partnered with home care agencies nation-wide to develop and implement processes to improve clinical and financial outcomes. She is a frequent speaker for home care audiences on assessment data collection, strategies for accuracy, establishing the plan of care and documentation standards.

Karen Vance | Senior Managing Consultant, BKD

Karen Vance is a Managing Consultant with BKD Health Care Group since 2003, delivering clinical and operations consulting services to home care providers. She also provides reimbursement and compliance consulting services and helps home care providers establish and maintain quality management practices. With home care experience since 1981 as a provider, clinical and regulatory manager, Karen has presented home care seminars since 1988 for national, state and regional health care associations and industry media organizations.

J'non Griffin RN, MHA, WCC, HCS-D, HCS-H, COS-C, AHIMA-Approved ICD-10-CM Trainer | Ambassador, President of Home Health Solutions, LLC

Griffin offers home health consulting on many topics including quality assurance and performance improvement, program development, coding and OASIS review, staff education and plan of care compilation. Griffin has experience as a field nurse, director and executive with home health and hospice agencies.
