CMS has recently launched a “Probe and Educate Review” for home health, where every agency nationwide will receive five ADRs and auditors will scrutinize agencies’ documentation. The early results of the probe are extremely troubling for home health agencies — with some MACs announcing denials rates of nearly 90% - with one MAC’s denial rate as high as 97%.
